Learn in a fun   outdoor environment

PRE-VISITS AVAILABLE Contact us to arrange your pre visit to discuss your School or Organisations visit.

Enrichment sessions for nurture groups at Frampton Farm are incredibly popular with local schools. These sessions offer a valuable opportunity for young people who benefit from time away from the classroom, providing them with a chance to learn in a more relaxed and engaging environment.

Some schools book for a full term, while others prefer a one-off session, depending on the needs of their students. The sessions are designed to be enriching, offering hands-on activities that help develop new skills, build confidence, and support emotional well-being. These experiences are perfect for those who thrive in nature-based, therapeutic settings.

We are delighted to collaborate with our local schools to develop farm-based enrichment programmes tailored to meet the specific needs and requirements of their students. These bespoke programmes allow us to offer meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that support the individual growth and development of each young person, whether it's through animal care, horticulture, or outdoor activities. Our goal is to provide a supportive and engaging environment that promotes both personal and educational growth.

These sessions can be tailored to last for 2 hours or more, accommodating up to 15 students at a time. We encourage you to get in touch with us to arrange a pre-visit, where we can meet with you and discuss your students' specific needs and how we can best support their development through our farm-based activities. We look forward to creating a personalised experience for your group.

Your time on   our farm.

During your visit, you will have the opportunity to learn about how we care for all of our animals, as well as gain insight into the environment and wildlife on the farm. Students and teachers will be able to enter many of our paddocks for a closer interaction with the animals.

Our animals all graze outdoors, but some require shelter from the elements, so we have specially built animal shelters in certain paddocks. We also have several outbuildings and stables used for housing poultry, birthing, or for medical care when needed.

The young people will love learning fascinating facts about the animals, such as why we shear the sheep and alpacas, or why sheep and goats have rectangular eyes. You can even choose to include a “farm to fork” lesson, teaching which animals produce which meat. Many of the teachers are often surprised by some of the facts we share!

Our  Horticulture area

At Frampton Farm, we also have a dedicated horticulture area, where we grow a variety of produce. This includes a fruit and salad polytunnel, an educational polytunnel where students can learn to sow and grow their own plants, as well as a greenhouse, herb garden, vegetable patches, and a fruit patch. It's a perfect environment for hands-on learning and nurturing nature.

In addition to our growing areas, the farm is surrounded by hedgerows and British native trees. We're passionate about sustainability and have already begun planting more trees, including a small apple orchard. Our plans for 2025 include creating two new garden spaces: a sensory garden and a wildlife garden, both of which will enhance the natural beauty and biodiversity of the farm.

Frampton Farm is truly a sanctuary for wildlife, with a variety of animals such as foxes, rabbits, badgers, and birds calling the land home. Over the years, many trees have naturally fallen, but the family is committed to reforesting the area. They are actively working to plant thousands of native UK trees to help encourage more wildlife and contribute positively to the environment.

Students at the farm play an important role in these efforts, actively participating in the rewilding of the land. They plant flowers and trees, create bird feeders, and place nesting materials out for the birds, all of which help create a vibrant and thriving ecosystem. This hands-on approach not only supports the environment but also provides valuable learning opportunities for the young people involved.

Curriculum    Based

We are more than happy to tailor your visit to align with your current curriculum learning. Many of the school visits during Spring and Summer 2024 included a full-day session, with mornings spent visiting and learning about our animals, followed by afternoons focused on sowing seeds and learning about vegetables.

If you're planning to visit around lambing time, we highly recommend booking in advance, as this is a particularly popular period for school visits. It ensures that you don't miss out on the chance to witness the magic of new lambs being born!

Our team are passionate, fun, and informative hosts who genuinely enjoy answering all the questions from children and teachers. They are eager to share their knowledge and make your visit both educational and enjoyable. We can’t wait to welcome you all to Frampton Farm very soon!
